Rolled Oats with Fruit and Nuts
Description:
This is a great breakfast, brunch, or dessert course. - Easy, fast, and wow, it's good. This is also a good recipe for kids to get involved in helping with.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup slivered almonds
2 apples
1 1/2 cups rolled oats (organic)
3/4 cup skim milk
3/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup Splenda
Directions:
Put oven rack in middle position and preheat to 350. Spread almonds in a layer on baking sheet and bake until golden (about 12 minutes). Keep an eye on them. They burn fast. Remove from oven and let cool. (this can be done the day before) Peel apples and grate on the large holes of a box grater. Stir together with almonds and all other ingredients in a bowl, then chill, covered at least 4 hours. Make sure to stir before serving.
