Better Way Gourmet

The idea for Better Way Gourmet was spawned around the time of 2002, but was originally supposed to be a restaurant (by a different name). Due to a lack of funding, the name was changed to Better Way Gourmet, and was meant to become a retail store. However, with an anticipated sloping economy, and a declining retail market, I felt that it was much safer to be the humble website that it is today. In hindsight, it was a smart decision.

As a website though, there was no definitive direction - just potential. I knew I wanted to help people in some way, but didn't really no much more than that. The idea for a personal chef network came about, so we tested it. The idea? People looking for a personal chef would come to us, and we would match them to one of hundreds of chefs on our network. While it seemed like a lucrative concept, there were some obvious snags - liability, being the biggest - and a few others that we've spent too much time and money figuring out to mention here.

In the beginning of 2009 we turned our chef network over to the American Culinary Alliance, who is redeveloping the concept and helping chefs all accross the US find clients that they wouldn't have otherwise. I am presently serving as the Chairman and Managing Chef for the ACA and looking forward to helping it grow.

Currently Better Way Gourmet is now an online social community focusing on sharing cheaper, easier, and healthier ways to shop, cook, and eat. -And as far as retail goes? We've got some good stuff on the way.
