My Personal Motto:
Eat>Drink>Dish it is not only a motto, but a way of life!
About me:
Partner of The Chatty Gourmet, LLC - www.thechattygourmet.com. My business partner and I want people to experience the wonderful world of food, beverages and sharing of ideas, tools and techniques.
My college:
UND - Grand Forks
My occupation:
Partner - The Chatty Gourmet, LLC
My education, major course of study, and/or work experience:
BBA - Marketing, UND - Grand Forks, ND - Cum Laude
Medical Device Sales - 10 years
My easy cooking tip to members:
Mise en Place - a must for everyone!

Slow cookers - even gourmet cooks!

Stock your pantry, freezer and fridge according to the weeks menu.
Remember that most meals can be morphed or frozen for next week, so make sure you have those items for morphing.

Grow your own herb garden. It is the best option to add fresh flavor to any dish. Not only that it is cheaper and better than buying store bought herbs.
My healthy cooking tip to members:
Herbs and spices add flavor without the fat.

Beans and lentils can be flavored with herbs that are wonderful and the fiber of the beans/lentils will fill you up without all the fat and calories.

Contact me via www.thechattygourmet.com and I can send you many of my go to recipes.
My food saving money tip to members:
Grow your own herbs and use your leftovers before you lose them.
My favorite healthy restaurants / eateries:
Subway (I traveled a lot and they were easy to find in a fix and had calorie and fat count on the napkins), sushi and choose healthy alternatives on the menu.
The food(s) I try most to avoid:
I do not avoid any food. Eat in moderation and use portion control. Food should be savored, wine/brews/cocktails should be sipped and the conversation will flow. Dish it up with your expression!
Recommended websites or cookbooks that teach cheaper, easier, healthier or special diets cooking:

My cooking skill level:
advanced
. . . What brings me here to Better Way Gourmet:
To help people enjoy cook ing and experiencing food and beverages in their own home. We want people to feel that any type of food is worth trying, unless you have a food allergy.

Take your time in the grocery store to look at the various options. Instead of your usual - try something else. You may be suprised - green eggs and ham - just try it, you may like it!

Take your kids - they love the produce section! The colors and textures are amazing to them! The fish market, cheese section and bread shops are another favorite for kids to expience. Introduce them to it ealry and they will love it!

Michelle and I were just talking about how our kids have experienced more foods than most people have experienced in a life time and they are all under 10 years of age. We call them our "little chatters"!
How I heard about Better Way Gourmet:
Mark Alyn
Now that you all have seen quite a few of Chatty Gourmet pictures that are recipes what are your thoughts? Have you had a chance to check out the website? We love contructive criticism. Give it to us (Michelle Doskocil and myself) - we can handle it!

Hi Julie!
Meeting up and talking about food? - You bet ya! :-)

As a Personal Chef I prepare food to my client's preferences and dietary needs. Many of them request all organic.

I prefer whole, organic - better yet, locally grown - foods, and reusable packaging/containers at home and for my business.

Fresh, nutritious and delicious foods are hard to beat! :-)
