Have you ever thought much about salt except to not eat too much of it? A few years ago I switched to sea salt because it offers more health benefits than plain table salt. Six months ago I learned about Himalayan salt. It has over 80 minerals so it's like taking a mineral supplement. How cool is that?
Unrefined salt is living salt. Table salt is actually 97.5% sodium chloride and 2.5% chemicals such as moisture absorbents, and iodine. Dried at over 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, the excessive heat alters the natural chemical structure of the salt.
Himalayan is by far the best salt to use. If you have high blood pressure don't be afraid to add Himalayan salt to your diet. This is a different food than refined table salt.
Yes it will cost more than table salt. I think of it as taking a mineral supplement without anything
synthetic.
You can buy Himalayan Pink Salt from most Natural Food Co-ops or Whole Foods Markets. If you can't find it at your local market try online sources like
Salt Works here. This salt comes fine or course. I use a course grain. It's simple to grind it yourself with a quality salt grinder. Salt grinders work like a pepper grinder except the grinding tool is ceramic. Also available
from Tropical Traditions here with grinder.
